To quote dotwatcher.cc:
Taurus Mountain Race might be the most mysterious, most anticipated, and potentially one of the purest ultra races on the calendar this year.
1,460 km with 36,000+ metres of climbing. Huge stretches of rough, remote terrain. An all-star cast of some of the strongest ultra-racers in the world.
And the route won’t be released until just two days before the start.

The time has come! On Wednesday, October 14, at 9:00 am local time in Antalya, Turkey (8:00 am in Germany), I’ll roll out alongside 250 other athletes and adventurers to tackle 1,460 km through the Taurus Mountains.
It’s the inaugural edition, and the route hasn’t been released yet… so we have absolutely no idea how long it might take us to get to the finish. One thing is certain, though: the weather in the mountains, at elevations of over 3,000 metres, can be pretty challenging at this time of year.
Let’s see how many hours of hike-a-bike sections Nelson Trees has planned for us to bring those average speeds down a bit. 😉
I’m excited, full of anticipation, and have a healthy dose of respect for the challenge ahead. But for my 10th season of ultracycling, I obviously need something special on the calendar to celebrate the milestone!
I’m really looking forward to catching up with old friends, experiencing the stunning and impressive landscapes, and battling it out with the other riders.
Keep your fingers crossed that I can get through this one with as few crashes and mechanical issues as possible. The rest will take care of itself.
Just keep moving forward… always forward! 😉
Haydi! Haydi!
